We will be very grateful to all sites who can display an eye-catching – but non-intrusive – diagonal banner. We are a volunteer initiative with no publicity budget, so we depend entirely on friends and partners who see the significance and potential of web evangelism. The banner link opens in a new window, so it does not take visitors away from your site. (We also offer ready-made page content to insert in your own site.)

To add a banner to your site, just copy/paste the Javascript below into your page. You can choose any corner of a page for it to appear, by amending the link to iedaylefthandtopbanner.js, iedaylefthandbottombanner.js or iedayrighthandbottombanner.js as appropriate. Choose a corner of your webpage where the banner will not be superimposed on any links or anything you do not wish to be covered.

If you prefer to use the actual banner graphics for better control over position, or want to have your own name and URL displayed on our site through our partners scheme, or wish to link to them or embed them in an HTML-styled email newsletter, you can link directly to the diagonal graphics instead. Please also encourage other websites to use these banners.

Extra help

• The square containing the banner is 151px x 151px.
• You may need to experiment exactly where you paste that code within the body of your page. If the page has CSS Divs with set positions, the banners may align within those, rather than to the edge of the page (though that may be a better placement in some page designs).
• You can force a banner to sit within the corner of a table cell or Div (rather than a page corner) – you may need to try extra CSS positioning to achieve this, or use a direct link to the graphics.
• Top corner banners are the best ones to use if possible. But if your page design does not suit them, please consider a bottom-corner banner. For these, the code needs to be inserted near the end of your page, usually after any Divs are closed, just before the </body>. Bottom banners look best on pages which are, in most browsers/settings, more than one screen high. With the code as provided, bottom banners will sit below other page content as displayed below.

  CSS experts can, if they wish, deconstruct the coding from the Javascript and hard-code the banner and a modified CSS file for a different improved positioning.

• If you would like the banner to appear on all your pages, and you are using include files for parts of your page such as the page header, menu or footer, please try adding the Javascript code within an include file.
